Elderly couple end lives in Tirumalgiri

An elderly couple died allegedly by suicide in their house at Tirumalgiri in Suryapet district reportedly due to health problems on Friday. The victims were Vadiyala Srinivas, 56, a well-known merchant, and his wife Somalakshmi, 52. Srinivas ran a general store on the main road of Tirumalgiri.

According to the police, the couple’s son Sravan, who was residing in another house along with his wife and children, found the bodies of his parents in a room of their old house at 6.30 am. Relatives said the couple had been under distress due to health problems.

Upon receiving information, Tirumalgiri police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the government hospital at Thungathurthy for autopsy. Based on the complaint of their son, police registered a case and took up investigation.

Juvenile Held in Multiple Burglaries in Lallaguda Sent to Special Home

The Fifth Additional Judicial Magistrate at Nampally has convicted a juvenile involved in multiple house break-ins within Lallaguda police limits and ordered him to be sent to the government special home for boys, Gajularamaram in Medchal-Malkajgiri district for two years.
The 16-year-old is a habitual offender with a history of involvement in eight criminal cases. In the present instance, he trespassed into bungalows of railway officers in South Lallaguda and committed theft of cash and valuables.
Lallaguda inspector B. Ravi Kiran said the police apprehended the juvenile through CCTV footage verification and subsequently produced him before the court.

CEO booked for luring investors into Ponzi scheme

The Madhapur police registered a cheating case against the CEO of a Kondapur-based company after a businessman alleged that he was duped of ₹8 lakh through a Ponzi-like investment scheme linked to cryptocurrency trading that promised unusually high returns.

According to the complainant, Ch. Srikar, 46, a businessman from KPHB Colony, alleged that Chikkala Raja Ram Mohan Rayalu, CEO of GBEX Technokart LLP, persuaded him to invest in his company after a mutual friend introduced them. The accused assured him of a 30 per cent return, promising a daily payout of ₹2,280 after TDS and repayment of the principal within three months.

The complainant alleged that the accused claimed to generate profits by purchasing USDT (Tether) at lower prices through a relative in Dubai and selling it at higher rates in India using the Binance platform. Believing these claims and facing losses in his own business, Srikar pledged his gold ornaments with a bank and invested ₹8 lakh.

Initially, the accused paid the promised daily returns for about 45 days before stopping the payments. Whenever the complainant sought the return of his investment, the accused delayed repayment, sought more time and encouraged him to bring in more investors.

The complainant further alleged that he later learnt of similar complaints against the accused, including a criminal case registered at S.R. Nagar police station. After the accused failed to honour an assurance given before KPHB police to repay the money within 15 days, Srikar approached the Madhapur police. A case was registered under the BNS provisions for cheating and breach of trust.

TGCSB forms SIT to probe ₹1,000-crore mule account scam

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe two cyber fraud cases involving suspicious transactions of nearly ₹1,000 crore, including a ₹54-crore fraud allegedly masterminded by Udathaneni Vikas Chowdary, through mule accounts, which were opened by unrelated persons through deception.

The SIT was formed on the directions of Director General of Police C.V. Anand, and the cases, earlier registered in Khammam police stations, have been transferred to the Bureau for detailed technical investigation.

According to the FIR, the case was re-registered by the TGCSB after transfer. The allegations state that the accused induced individuals to open bank accounts — also called mule accounts — and hand over control on the pretext of legitimate business operations, including GST-related transactions.

The complainant, Naresh Podili, a businessman from Sathupally, alleged that in the 2021, Vikas Chowdary and his wife Boppana Naga Priya, known to his family, persuaded him to open multiple current accounts in two banks for business. He alleged that he shared account details and access based on their assurance.

He alleged that in 2025, another accused, Charan, convinced him to open an account in another bank for a payment gateway business, claiming it to be legitimate.

The complainant alleged that the accused later changed banking credentials without his knowledge, gained control over the accounts and used them for illegal financial transactions. The complainant said that he became aware of the alleged fraud after media reports about a ₹547-crore cyber fraud involving Vikas Chowdary and approached the police.

The FIR names Vikas Chowdary as the prime accused, along with his wife and others. Cases have been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.

The SIT, headed by deputy superintendent of police K.V.M. Prasad, has been tasked with tracing the financial trail, examining digital evidence, investigating the transactions in both cases and submitting progress reports to the TGCSB Director until completion of the probe.

Cyberabad Police and SCSC Host 'Coffee with a Cop' to Educate Young Professionals on Cyber Safety

The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), in collaboration with the Cyberabad Police and Telangana Rising, organised the sixth edition of its flagship ‘Coffee with a Cop’ programme in Gopanpally, bringing together young professionals for an interactive session on cyber safety and responsible digital behaviour. The programme was held under the theme ‘Connected, Not Consumed: Navigating the Digital Age.’

Hosted by Wipro centre head Venkat Seshu, the event highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry and law enforcement in spreadin awareness about online safety and strengthening community engagement.

Sai Sri, superintendent of police, Cybercrime and Operations, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) spoke about the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape. She educated participants on financial frauds, phishing attacks, QR code scams, fake investment schemes, social engineering, deepfakes, password security, OTP frauds and digital privacy.

Young professionals interacted with the officer, seeking guidnce on protecting themselves from cybercrime, identifying online threats and responding effectively if targeted.

Sai Sri urged participants to remain vigiant online, verify information before trusting it and practise good cyber hygiene, stressing that every digital action carries responsibility. She also shared insights into balancing her responsibilities as a senior police officer and a mother while advocating digital awareness among children and families.

SCSC CEO Naved Alam Khan outlined the council’s community safety initiatives, while moderator Rashmi Srivastava encouraged open discussions between citizens and police. Organisers said the ‘Coffee with a Cop’ series continues to strengthen trust and promote safer digital communities through dialogue and awareness.

DGP C.V. Anand Directs Telangana Police to Boost Tech-Driven Policing and Fight Cyber Crime

Director General of Police C.V. Anand on Thursday directed all police units to strengthen technology-driven policing and improve the state's performance on national cyber security parameters. He said staying ahead in technology was essential to combat the growing menace of cyber crime.

He reviewed the implementation of cyber security initiatives, e-zero FIR and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) through a video conference. The meeting was attended by TCSB Director Shikha Goel, T-SPARK SP Rupesh, Cyber Security SP Sai Sri and senior police officers.

Referring to the Centre's focus on cyber security, the DGP said, “Prime Minister's PRAGATI platform regularly monitors governance initiatives and the Government of India has expressed serious concern over the increasing number of cyber frauds, particularly ‘digital arrest’ scams.”

Anand said the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) periodically reviewed states on nine key performance indicators and instructed officers to ensure effective implementation across all parameters.

He noted that the implementation of e-Zero FIR has not yet reached its full potential. “Every unit must ensure its effective rollout,” Anand said, while appreciating the efforts of T-SPARK and the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TCSB), which registered nearly 20 e-Zero FIRs within two days.

He said the state ranked 13th in e-Zero FIR implementation, 18th in money restoration with a recovery rate of 46.6 per cent, fourth in GRM, sixth in the Samanvaya Portal, and eighth in capacity building.

Chaderghat Police Penalise Auto Owner After Minor Filmed Driving With Woman on His Lap

Chaderghat police said they had taken action against a man who had provided his autorickshaw to a minor. The minor was filmed at Chaderghat driving the three-wheeler with a woman seated on his lap.

The minor driver was filmed by a passing motorist at who put up the video on social media. Chaderghat police traced the autorickshaw using its registration details and penalised the vehicle owner and those who permitted the minor to drive the vehicle.

Jangaon Native Dies by Suicide in Mansoorabad Over ₹20 Lakh Farm Debt

A 45-year-old worker died by suicide at his rented house in Vinayaknagar Colony in Mansoorabad reportedly due to agricultural debt of `20 lakh. LB Nagar police said the victim, Kavati Raju Kumar, a native of Krishnajigudem in Chilpur mandal of Jangaon district, had shifted to the city after financial losses.

In a complaint lodged with the police, Kumar’s wife Swapna stated that she went to her mother's house with their two children two days before the incident. On Thursday afternoon, at around 3.30 pm, Kumar died allegedly by suicide.

She told police that her husband have been under severe mental stress due to the burden of the loan and that she did not suspect any foul play in his death. Police booked a case of death under suspicious circumstances and took up investigations.
