2 Poachers Held, Peacock, Nilgai Meat Seized In Adilabad
According to forest officials, a raid was conducted at a house in Gimma village, where the seized peacock meat and nilgai intestines were found. Officials also recovered photographs of the accused posing with the dead peacock and nilgai.
ADILABAD: Adilabad forest officials on Monday seized the meat of four peacocks and the intestines of a female nilgai, arresting two poachers while two others remain absconding in connection with the case. The forest staff also seized two nets, a power battery, and a sharp weapon.
The arrested accused were identified as Neelesh Chowhan (22) and Rathod Roshan (18) of Parva village in Ghatanji, Maharashtra. The two absconding accused were identified as Sandeep Rathod and Sanjeev Rathod of Gimma village in Tamsi mandal, Adilabad district.

The accused reportedly crossed the Penganga river into Pipplakoti forest in Maharashtra on Sunday midnight, where they hunted and killed the animals.
The four accused, who are relatives, confessed that they planned to host a feast with the meat. Sandeep Rathod and Sanjeev Rathod had arranged the gathering for their relatives Neelesh Chowhan and Rathod Roshan, who had come from Maharashtra to Gimma.
Adilabad forest divisional officer Chinna Bhusaraddi, Adilabad forest range officer Gulab Singh, and Task Force FRO D. Srinivas were present at the press conference.
