183 Hyderabad Teachers Get Notices for Failing to Mark FRS Attendance

Following instructions from Hyderabad district Collector Priyanka Ala, the notices were issued to the teachers

Hyderabad: The district administration has issued show cause notices to 183 teachers working in government schools in Hyderabad for being absent from duty without giving prior information and registering attendance through facial recognition-based attendance system (FRS).

Following instructions from Hyderabad district Collector Priyanka Ala, the notices were issued to the teachers. In a statement, District Education Officer (DEO) Yadaiah said the District Collector conducted surprise inspections in government schools in Old City, Secunderabad, Koti, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad and other areas.

During the inspections, the attendance and FRS records were thoroughly examined. Although the facial recognition (FRS) system is in place for the attendance registration process of teachers, it was found that 183 teachers were absent without registering FRS in time and without any prior information.

As part of disciplinary action, show cause notices have been issued to 183 teachers who acted irresponsibly by not registering attendance through FRS. He also said that if they behave in the same way for the second time, they will be suspended. Similarly, the District Collector ordered that special monitoring should be conducted daily to ensure that all teachers register their attendance on time through the FRS.

He said that the full responsibility of monitoring has been entrusted to the Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) concerned to ensure that teachers register FRS regularly in every school and make it available in schools. He warned that in order to maintain educational standards and discipline in government schools, all teachers should register their attendance through FRS on time and strictly follow the rules.

Strict action will be taken if the rules are violated, he added.
