18-Year-Old Drowns While Bathing In Rajanna Sircilla Pond
Based on a complaint lodged by his father Narsaiah, police registered a case of accidental drowning and shifted the body for post-mortem examination: Reports
KARIMNAGAR: An 18-year-old youth drowned in a village pond at Bandapalli in Chandurthi mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Malyala Srujan, a resident of the same village.
According to sub-inspector J. Ramesh, Srujan had gone to the pond alone in the afternoon to bathe. He reportedly ventured into a deeper section of the water body, unaware of its depth, and drowned. Migrant labourers nearby noticed him struggling and attempted a rescue, but he had already died by then.
On receiving information, police along with swimmers reached the spot and launched a search operation. The body was recovered after about three hours.
