18 Motors Attached to Pipeline Seized
These motors were seized from Dharma Reddy Colony Phase in Balajinagar ward, Kukatpally.

Hyderabad:Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Wednesday seized 18 motors, which were found to be attached illegally to pipelines to draw water with high pressure.
These motors were seized from Dharma Reddy Colony Phase in Balajinagar ward, Kukatpally. Officials from HMWS&SB, vigilance department, carried out inspection on Wednesday from 7.30 am to 10.30 am and found that 18 motors were attached illegally to Water Board pipelines for drawing drinking water.
When these motors are installed illegally to fetch water at a high pressure, this often leads to low pressure in other households, which also results in dry run of a tap. The situation becomes tough for those houses located in low-lying areas.
For the first time violator, the motor is seized and for the second time, a fine of `5,000 would be imposed, besides filing of a case. If there is low pressure supply or any other problem related to supply of potable water, consumers can contact the HMWS&SB manager, deputy general manager of their respective areas or give a call to Water Board customer care number 155313. Officials have been inspecting those places where low water pressure was being reported.
