In Mahadevpur mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, minister Sridhar Babu and district collector Rahul Sharma distributed shoes and bags to around 650 government-school students under a programme organised by the Give Voluntary organisation in association with the Democratic Teachers Federation.
Speaking at the event, Sridhar Babu noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally oversees the education department and has launched the “Amma Adarsha Patashala” initiative to strengthen rural government schools with vital infrastructure. He added that the government plans to build Model Integrated Residential School complexes in every Assembly constituency and will soon issue notifications to recruit additional teaching staff.
Students already receive free uniforms and textbooks, and a revamped diet menu has been introduced to improve meal quality. Dual desks have also been distributed. Praising Mahadevpur Government School’s legacy, the minister announced a pilot development project funded by a ₹15 crore CSR grant, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled shortly.
Sridhar Babu estimated that 245 students have transferred from private schools to Mahadevpur Government School this year and commended its teachers for their dedication and for treating pupils like their own children. He urged students to make full use of the enhanced facilities and excel academically, bringing pride to their families and community.
Collector Rahul Sharma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to quality education in public schools and announced the installation of the district’s first sanitary-napkin vending machine at Mahadevpur Government High School to support female students’ health and attendance.
