141 Students Receive Degrees At Apollo Medical College
The Dr K.V.R. Prasad Memorial Gold Medal, instituted in memory of the senior physician, was awarded to Vellore Sarvan Sri Ramya of the undergraduate batch of 2020.

Hyderabad:A total of 141 students from the Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR), Hyderabad, received their medical degrees at its graduation ceremony held at Dr B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Jubilee Hills, on Saturday. The graduating students included 97 MBBS graduates and 44 MD/MS graduates.
Dr B. Soma Raju, cardiologist and founder of CARE Hospitals, and mentor-director, cardiology, Sindhu Hospitals,said, Apollo Hospitals founder Dr Prathap C. Reddy had revolutionised private healthcare in India, bringing advanced medical care within the country and inspiring institutions that followed. He noted that technology and artificial intelligence had made knowledge more accessible and accelerated the learning of technical skills. “But human understanding remains irreplaceable,” Dr Soma Rajum a Padma Shri awardeem said.
Shiva Rama Krishnan, CEO, Apollo Knowledge, highlighted the importance of continuous learning. “The rapid advances in AI are transforming healthcare, and you must keep pace to avoid becoming obsolete. AI will never replace healthcare professionals, but those who embrace it will significantly outperform those who don’t,” he said.
Dr K. Manohar, dean, AIMSR, said 34 MBBS graduates had secured first-class marks. Among the 45 postgraduate students, 42 passed, with 14 earning first-class honours which he said was a remarkable achievement.
The convocation was held for the undergraduate batch of 2020 and postgraduate batch of 2022. Maya Devi Kocherlakota of the undergraduate batch of 2020 received Dr Pratap C Reddy’s Gold Medal for the best outgoing undergraduate student. Samudrala Kavya of the department of general medicine received the same medal for the best outgoing postgraduate student.

Since its inception in 2012, Apollo Medical College, Hyderabad, has graduated more than 700 students. According to the institution, over 90 per cent of its alumni have secured postgraduate seats at medical colleges across the country or entered residency programmes abroad.
