13 Agricultural Labourers Injured As Autorickshaw Overturns in Suryapet
Vehicle carrying agricultural workers overturned after hitting potholes during road-widening works.
Nalgonda: Thirteen agricultural labourers were injured after the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned at Ratnavaram in Nadigudem mandal of Suryapet district on Tuesday.
According to police, the labourers were travelling from Ramapuram to Ratnavaram for paddy transplantation work when the accident occurred. The autorickshaw reportedly lost control after hitting potholes that had developed during ongoing road-widening works and overturned.
Police said the vehicle was carrying more passengers than the permitted capacity.
The injured labourers were shifted by ambulance to the Government Hospital at Kodad for treatment. Police said none of them sustained serious injuries.
Nadigudem sub-inspector A. Tejaswini said the autorickshaw driver was counselled and warned against carrying passengers beyond the permitted capacity.
