12-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Open Well in Suryapet District

Nalgonda: A 12-year-old boy drowned in an agricultural open well at Mangapuram in Garidepally mandal of Suryapet district on Friday. The victim, Gundu Sai, was a student of a residential school at Nereducherla and a native of Mangapuram. He was the son of Gundu Anjaiah.

Sai had returned to his village for the summer holidays. On Friday afternoon, he went to an open well on the outskirts of the village along with three friends. Police said he drowned while swimming in the well. Alerted by his friends, locals pulled him out of the water, but he had died by then.

Garidepally police reached the spot on receiving information and shifted the body to the area hospital at Huzurnagar for post-mortem.
