11 Held for Assaulting Security Guards in Kukatpally
The complainant alleged that on December 29, around 12.15 am, accused Abdul Mohid along with a group of labourers, picked up a quarrel during the checking with a security guard, Mani, and attempted to assault him.

Hyderabad: Kukatpally police have registered a case after a man was critically injured following an alleged assault, involving labourers and security staff, at a construction site on Monday evening. According to complainant, Pallab Bhuyan, 24, a security guard residing at a colony in Kukatpally, he had come to the locality about 45 days ago from his native place and was working at Honer Homes.
His duty was to ensure security and safety at the construction site. He further stated that there had been minor scuffles between labourers and security guards.
“Guards were given task to frisk labourers, who were supposed to leave the site after finishing their work, so as to keep thefts under check. However, it appears that labourers misunderstood the checking and were nursing a grudge. We are still probing what led to the incident,” Kukatpally sub-inspector and IO, I. Chandra Shekhar, said.

On being informed, Mani’s brother Munaj Jyothi Bhuyan reached the spot to pacify them. However, the accused allegedly attacked Munaj Jyothi Bhuyan using hand, stick and pipe. When Pallab Bhuyan, Munaj’s cousin and his roommate Diplubora intervened, the accused, allegedly harbouring old grudges, hit them as well with hand and a stick with an intention of causing serious injury.
The complainant stated that even after he and Diplubora tried to hide in their room, the accused forcefully entered and continued the assault on them and another person, Uttam Sokya, who was in the room,
In the incident, Munaj Jyothi Bhuyan sustained severe injuries and became unconscious. He was shifted to Ramdev Rao Hospital for treatment. The complainant, Pallab, also suffered injuries in his left leg and waist. A few with him had also sustained minor injuries and were provided medical treatment.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
Altogether 14 labourers, including main accused Mohid, were involved in the incident. So far, eleven accused, including Mohid, were arrested. Three more are traceless, police said.
