11 devotees to Kumbh hurt in road mishap on NH-44

Preliminary investigations suggest that driver dizziness may have led to the accident. Mendora police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Nizamabad: Eleven devotees returning from Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj were injured in a road accident near Bussapur village in Mendora mandal on National Highway 44 on Saturday. The mishap occurred when their vehicle collided with a roadside tree and overturned.

Among the injured, Gattaiah, Malga Madhu, and Penta Reddy sustained serious injuries. All the victims, hailing from Nalgonda district, had travelled to Prayagraj for a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela.

The injured were immediately shifted to Government General Hospital in Nizamabad for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that driver dizziness may have led to the accident. Mendora police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
