10,991 CCTV Cameras Installed In Nizamabad Commissionerate Limits
Nizamabad police said 10,991 CCTV cameras have been installed since 2017 to support crime prevention, detection and recovery of stolen property.

A total of 10,991 CCTV cameras have been installed across the Nizamabad police commissionerate between 2017 and September 2026 under the Community Contact and Nenu Saitham programmes, commissioner of police P. Sai Chaitanya said.
He called upon residents, business establishments and institutions to install quality CCTV cameras to help prevent crime and improve detection and recovery of stolen property.
Sai Chaitanya said CCTV surveillance had become an important tool in detecting thefts, assaults, vandalism, vehicle thefts, eve-teasing and other offences. Footage often helps police identify offenders, recover stolen property and provide evidence in court, he said.
He urged residents to install cameras inside and outside their houses and at vulnerable points on streets. Commercial establishments, schools and colleges, banks and ATMs, religious places, theatres, apartments, hospitals, parking areas and major junctions should also have adequate CCTV coverage, he said.
“Preventing crime is better than suffering after an offence. People can act as ‘police without uniforms’ by taking responsibility for the safety of their neighbourhoods,” Sai Chaitanya said.
He stressed that CCTV systems should provide clear coverage and that people should opt for quality cameras, particularly at entry and exit points, parking areas and other vulnerable locations. Wider CCTV coverage would help create a safer community and enable police to respond more effectively to crimes and public-safety incidents, he said.
