10 Cr Farmers Get ₹ 20,500-Cr Aid: Kishan Reddy
The assistance is meant to serve as investment capital for purchasing seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other inputs: Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy

HYDERABAD: Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy said that 10 crore farmers across the country received ₹20,500 crore under the 20th instalment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Under the scheme, each eligible farmer receives ₹2,000 every four months, totalling ₹6,000 annually, credited directly to their bank accounts.
Speaking at an event in Yacharam village, Ranga Reddy district, which coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi releasing the funds from Varanasi, Kishan Reddy said the assistance is meant to serve as investment capital for purchasing seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other inputs.
He highlighted that the Centre offers ₹2,236 off on each bag of urea and ₹2,422 on each bag of DAP. A farmer using two bags of each per acre receives ₹9,316 in fertiliser subsidies per acre per crop. Despite rising global fertiliser prices, including in the USA and Australia, he said the Centre has fully absorbed the subsidy burden to shield Indian farmers.
At another PM-KISAN event in Choppadandi, Karimnagar, Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the Modi government has invested ₹71 lakh crore in farmers over the past 11 years. This includes over ₹11 lakh crore in fertiliser subsidies, ₹16.35 lakh crore as MSP payments and ₹3.69 lakh crore under the PM-KISAN scheme.
In Jadcherla, Mahabubnagar MP D.K. Aruna participated in the programme, during which several OBC leaders, including former councillor Pedda Narasillu and about 80 supporters, joined the BJP in her presence. Aruna accused the Congress of misleading people with hollow promises and failing on all fronts.
She alleged that while the Centre fully funds the poor housing scheme, now renamed Indiramma Indlu by the state, most houses are allotted to Congress workers, leaving genuinely needy families out. She highlighted central government contributions to road works, tree plantation and street lighting. Aruna further said the Centre is providing direct financial support to the poor through Mudra loans, the street vendors scheme, and Viswakarma loans.
