Woman’s Headless Body Found In Suitcase On Tamil Nadu Express
Agra Railway Police Examine 200+ CCTV Recordings, Probe Suspected Murder At Rented House

Following the discovery of a woman’s headless body, chopped into several pieces and packed in a suitcase on the Tamil Nadu Express from Chennai to New Delhi, Agra Railway Police have reached Guduvanchery, where investigators suspect the woman may have been murdered at a rented house.
The Agra Railway Police, with the assistance of Tamil Nadu police, have examined more than 200 CCTV recordings to trace the movement of the suitcase and the suspected perpetrators.
The Tamil Nadu Express, which left Chennai Central for New Delhi on August 5, reached Agra on August 6. Passengers in the general compartment alerted railway officials after a foul smell began emanating from a large red suitcase. When police opened it, they found the mutilated body of a woman without a head.
The body was recovered and sent to a government hospital for postmortem, following which a case was registered.
Investigators subsequently examined CCTV footage from Chennai Central and other locations. The footage showed a middle-aged man and a woman arriving at Chennai Central with the red suitcase and boarding the Tamil Nadu Express. However, shortly before the train departed, the duo allegedly left the suitcase inside the train and got down.
Police said the two then walked to Chennai Park railway station, boarded an electric train to Guduvanchery and later travelled from Guduvanchery railway station in an autorickshaw.
Based on footage from more than 200 CCTV cameras in and around Guduvanchery, investigators traced the movement of the duo to a rented house on Masjid Street.
The house was locked when police arrived. The Agra Railway Police, assisted by Guduvanchery police, opened and searched the premises.
According to police, two women and a man from Odisha had reportedly rented the house and stayed there for a few days before disappearing. Investigators are now examining whether either of the women could be the victim.
Police are working to establish their identities and trace their whereabouts. Photographs of the suspected man and woman are also being shown to local residents to gather information.
Investigators reportedly recovered clues from the house suggesting that the woman’s body may have been dismembered there. They are examining the circumstances surrounding the suspected murder, including how the body was cut up and packed into the suitcase.
The identity of the deceased woman and the whereabouts of her head remain unknown. Police are also trying to establish the identities and relationship of the two women and the man who rented the house and determine their possible connection to the crime.
As the suspected crime scene falls under the jurisdiction of the Tambaram City Police Commissionerate, the case may be transferred to Tamil Nadu police for further investigation in coordination with the Agra Railway Police.
