Vijay will Not Aspire for PM Post and Move Out of TN: Vaiko

Chennai: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Wednesday said Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay would not be willing to move out of Tamil Nadu and try to become Prime Minister. He asserted that Joseph Vijay would not give away the rights of Tamil Nadu on the Mekedatu issue when he meets his Karnataka counterpart D.K. Shivakumar.
Addressing the media at the Chennai airport, the MDMK leader said “Vijay has accepted the Chief Minister’s post on his own wish and he will not move away from Tamil Nadu, when reporters asked if Vijay could become the Prime Minister. Vaiko said the remarks of Shivakumar that no one could intervene in the affairs of Karnataka over the killing of Tamil farmers is an expression of arrogance. Wherever Tamils are killed, the sentiments of crores of people in Tamil Nadu would be affected, he added.
Three innocent Tamils were brutally killed in Karnataka and the culprits should be brought to book and punished severely, he demanded, adding Karnataka government should provide a compensation of Rs. 10 crore for each of the families. He said Union Minister Amit Shah is acting against the State’s rights and trying to bulldoze the uniqueness of States while insisting on Hindi imposition.
