Through the App, five members could enroll on one telephone number and Vijay wanted the membership to touch 2 crore by admitting one more crore members through the present drive through the App, party sources said.

Chennai: Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam president Vijay launched the ‘MyTVK App’ through which those wishing to enroll with the party as members could join the organization whose district secretaries and top level office-bearers and functionaries met Pannaiyur to discuss the future plans to face the elections.
Through the App, five members could enroll on one telephone number and Vijay wanted the membership to touch 2 crore by admitting one more crore members through the present drive through the App, party sources said.
Speaking at the event, Vijay said that the 2026 Assembly elections would see a repeat result of the 1967 and 1977 State Assembly elections. In both watershed elections, a well-established party was defeated by a new party – DMK trounced the Congress in 1967 and the AIADMK pipped the DMK to the post in 1977 –and the TVK would do it in 2026.
Vijay quoted DMK founder C N Annadurai to drive home the point that it was essential for the party cadre to reach to the people to win the coming elections. Annadurai had said go the people, live with them and plan with them, he said, urging his supporters to endear themselves with the voters
Among those who received membership cards from Vijay on Wednesday were a trio of grandfather, father and son, all of whom had voting rights.
