Vijay Attacks DMK for Turning ‘Knowledge Fete’ Into Forum for Abuse
TVK would stand with the masses & make the DMK realize the real power of the people in the 2026 elections

Chennai: Launching a blistering attack on the DMK for turning its recent ‘knowledge festival’ into an event for denigrating the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), the founder president of the new party, Vijay, said the ruling party was shaken by the entry of a new movement with mass appeal into the political scene after 53 years with the threat to yank the rug off their feet.
In a message on X on Wednesday, Vijay said that the DMK leaders, thinking that they were being criticized by the TVK, had started hurling unsubstantiated allegations against them even before they had actually begun pointing out their mistakes but were only indulging in mild reproaches.
Fearing defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections, the DMK president M K Stalin was indulging in a power-induced bravado saying that no one could defeat his party when the reality was that the party would soon be thrown out of power by the people.
Having adopted denigration of rival parties as its major political principle and corruption as its enduring ideology since 1969, the DMK was now getting the jitters watching the TVK entering the political scene by winning over the hearts of the people and gaining their confidence, Vijay said.
So the only objective of the DMK was to hurl abuses even though the TVK had been mild in its criticisms made within the bounds of civilization, he said.
The DMK had been taking the people for a ride through its pretense of principles, through traditional slogans on protecting Tamil land, language and honour and swearing by Tamil Nadu, Tamil language and Tamil race, he said.
He questioned the commitment of the DMK to the cause of social justice pointing to the party refusing to undertake a caste survey citing various lame excuses and alleged that it had given a go by to the principles of Periyar E V Ramasamy and C N Annadurai.
The DMK’s charge that the TVK lacked principles stemmed from the ruling party’s fear of losing power and its uneasiness and jealousy over the new party’s entry into the political arena with principles on social justice intact and without bending to others’ demands, he said.
Vowing to expose the DMK’s fake commitment to ideology, he said the TVK would stand with the masses and make the DMK realize the real power of the people in the 2026 elections.
