TVK Win in Bypolls Will Be People’s Recognition of Coalition Rule: Minister
The minister said the DMK is trying to make a comeback in Tamil Nadu politics while the AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami is trying to get out of a tough situation

Chennai: Higher Education Minister P. Viswanathan on Wednesday predicted a huge victory for the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) in the by-polls to Madhuranthagam and Dharapuram, adding it would be a recognition to the coalition government and its welfare schemes.
Addressing the media at the Chennai airport, the minister said the DMK is trying to make a comeback in Tamil Nadu politics while the AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami is trying to get out of a tough situation. Both the Dravidian parties are fighting for their survival and they could not challenge the TVK in the elections, he said.
When asked about the AIADMK MLAs resigning their post and joining the TVK, he said it is the personal wish of an individual to join a party. They did not like the policies and leadership of the AIADMK and they also realised that the AIADMK would not last long in politics. The MLAs who quit the AIADMK felt that they could travel in the AIADMK which would not reach its destination. He ruled out joining the DMK in future, saying there is no chance to go back to the DMK alliance.
