Stalin Vows to End Vijay’s TVK Regime, Calls It DMK's Gift

The former chief minister said that the reason for him recalling all that is to underscore that victory and defeat will alternate.

Chennai: Declaring that the present TVK-led coalition government was at the mercy of the DMK as it enjoyed the support of MLAs who contested the elections with a view to bringing the DMK to power, former Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin stressed on the need for ousting the government from power.

Welcoming over 1000 former AIADMK leaders and cadre who joined the DMK party at Anna Arivalayam on Saturday, Stalin urged them to strive for the development of Tamil society and said that for the DMK victory and failure were the same.

Leaders of the alliance parties, with whose support the TVK government was being run, still maintain that were in the DMK-led alliance and were in touch with him, Stalin said, adding that when they informed him of their decision to back the TVK he had told them that to go ahead with their proposal as it was their democratic right.

He approved of them backing the TVK since it would prevent the imposition of President’s Rule in the State and the BJP coming to power, he said.

The AIADMK cadre were led into the DMK fold by Kattankulathur North AIADMK secretary Gajendran alias Gaja, who said that he had been loyal to the AIADMK as long as he was with the party. Appreciating the statement, Stalin said anyone should be loyal to the party they were affiliated to.

He said that there could be no personal motive for gain by the newcomers to the DMK as the party was not in power anymore.
