Train Mishap at Dharmapuri Station Kills Child, Father Suffers Fracture

Dharmapuri: A tragic incident occurred at Dharmapuri railway station when a seven-year-old boy, who had come with his father to see off relatives, slipped from the platform and was run over by its wheels. The boy’s body was dismembered, shocking onlookers. His father, who also slipped and fell onto the track, survived with a fracture.
Muniyappan, a resident of the Paisualli area of Dharmapuri, and his son, Yasiriyan (7), went to Dharampuri railway station to see off their relatives. Muniyappan and Yasiriyan boarded the Bengaluru–Ernakulam Express to help their relatives. However, while getting down, they slipped and fell into the space between the platform and the train. As the train started moving, Yasiriyan was caught under the wheels while Muniyappan suffered a fracture in his leg.
Railway police sent the body to the government hospital for a post-mortem examination, and are investigating the case.
