TNSTC Runs Special Buses For Gandhi Jayanthi And Weekend Holidays
TNSTC will operate additional buses from October 1 to 4 to meet travel demand during the Gandhi Jayanthi and weekend holiday period.
Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will run additional buses from October 1 to 4 to meet the demands of people during the three days of continuous holidays for Gandhi Jayanthi and weekend.
The TNSTC noted that more than 64,000 people had already booked their tickets and requested the people to reserve their tickets as the number of bookings is expected to go up in the coming days. A total of 28,402 passengers have booked seats for October 1 and 24,123 seats have been booked for Sunday.
On October 1, a total of 1,580 buses will be operated from Kilambakkam bus terminus to Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tirupur. Another 745 buses will be operated on October 2. Another 895 buses will be run on October 3.
From Koyambedu, 220 buses will be operated to Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur and Bengaluru on October 1. For the next two days, 115 services will be operated on each day. From Madhavaram, 185 buses will be operated on October 1 and 90 services each on October 2 and 3. A total of 200 buses will be operated from Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode and Coimbatore to various places in the State on all the days from October 1 to 4. The TNSTC will operate 1,471 services on October 4 to Chennai and Bengaluru from various parts of Tamil Nadu.
The information on special buses is provided to the people to enable them reserve their seats in advance to avoid last hour rush and inconvenience, a TNSTC press release here said.
