TN Governor Clears Four Bills

The Assembly passed 18 Bills during the session held between March 14 to April 30, of which four, moved by State Finance Minister Thangam Thenaasu relating to budgetary allocations, had been cleared while the rest were pending scrutiny

Chennai: Governor R N Ravi has given his consent for four finance Bills passed by the State Assembly on the last day of the Budget session, while 14 other Bills, including the one on setting up the Kalignar University at Kumbakonam, are pending approval.

The Assembly passed 18 Bills during the session held between March 14 to April 30, of which four, moved by State Finance Minister Thangam Thenaasu relating to budgetary allocations, had been cleared while the rest were pending scrutiny.

Apart from the Budget presentation, the session saw a wide range of discussions and debates on the grants for the various departments. The Governor giving his accent to the four finance bills is seen as a positive step forward to manage the State’s finances.
