TN: Garland Of 1,00,008 Vadas For Namakkal Anjaneyar
The historically renowned Sri Anjaneyar Temple, located at the Namakkal Fort, includes an 18-foot-tall Anjaneyar, sculpted from a single stone.

Namakkal: On the occasion of the Jayanti festival of Namakkal Sri Anjaneyar Swamy, a grand decoration with a garland of 1,00,008 vadas was carried out, while thousands of devotees had darshan of the deity.
The historically renowned Sri Anjaneyar Temple, located at the Namakkal Fort, includes an 18-foot-tall Anjaneyar, sculpted from a single stone. Every year, Anjaneyar Jayanti is celebrated in a special manner in the Tamil month of Margazhi, on the new moon day (Amavasya) under the Moola star.
A special abhishekam was performed to the deity using fragrant items such as gingelly oil, 1,008 litres of milk, curd, turmeric water, shikakai powder, and panchamirtham. Thousands of devotees stood in long queues from midnight itself to have darshan of the deity.
Over 500 police personnel were deployed on security duty, with surveillance carried out through CCTV cameras.
