Tiruvarur Police Rescue Mannargudi Youth From Myanmar Captivity

24-year-old allegedly kidnapped after travelling to Myanmar; police arrest two Rajasthan natives and negotiate his release.
Swift police action helped secure the youth’s release after kidnappers allegedly demanded Rs 6.25 lakh in ransom.
Due to the speedy and meticulous efforts of the Tiruvarur police, a 24-year-old youth from Mannargudi was rescued and is heading home safely after he was kidnapped in Myanmar.
Muheshwaran of Moova Nallur village returned to Thailand, where he was working during the last two years, on August 8 after vacation. From there, through an agent, he went to Myanmar and three days ago his father received a message on phone in which his son said that he was kidnapped by a group of people, who wanted him to give Rs 6.25 lakh as ransom to a person at Tiruchy.
Based on Mugeswaran's father's complaint on August 20, Sathiskumar, the superintendent of police, Tiruvarur, appointed Inspector Rajesh Kannan as special officer in the case. Based on his enquiries, the police arrested one Maavaram of Rajasthan who was staying at Palakarai area in Tiruchy town. Inquiries with him revealed that Samalaram, also from Rajasthan, was involved in the kidnap.
After negotiations with the kidnappers at Myanmar, Mugeswaran was released from captivity and is on his way back home by flight.
Superintendent of Police appreciated the speedy action of Inspector Rajesh Kannan for the release of the kidnapped person from a foreign country.
