The State government announced the names of winners of awards instituted in the name of 10 Tamil legends for the current year and said that the prizes – Rs 5 lakh cash, one gram gold medal and a citation would be presented by Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thiruvalluvar Day, falling on Friday, January 16, along with a shawl.

The award winners are M P Sathyavel Murugan (Thiruvalluvar Award), A Arulmozhi (Thanthai Periyar Award), Sinthanai Selvan (Annal Ambedkar Award), Duraimurugan (Perariangar Anna Award), S M Hidayathula (Peruthalaivar Kamarajar Award), Nellai Jayantha (Mahakavi Bharathiar Award), Yugbharathi (Paventhar Bharathidasan Award), V Iraianbu (Tamil Thendral Thiru Vi Ka Award), S Chellabavu (Muthamil Kavalar K A P Vishwanthan Award) and Viduthalai Virumbi (Muthamil Aringar Kalaignar Award).
