It is learnt that discussions on the shifting has already begun though no official orders have been issued: Reports

CHENNAI: Rumours are abounded that Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay wants to shift his office in the Secretariat out of the historic Fort St George building and move into a more spacious renovated facility at the10-storey Namakkal Kavignar Maligai in the same campus for various reasons, including Vastu compliance.

It is learnt that discussions on the shifting has already begun though no official orders have been issued. The regular stream of visitors to the new Chief Minister’s office ranging from top political honchos to diplomats to business leaders is being cited as a reason for renovating the seminar hall and other conference facilities in the new 10-storey building.

More than that, the grapevine has it that an astrologer has said that the present office of the Chief Minister was not vaastu compliant and that for the TVK to continue in power, the head of the government should operate from a tall building.

So, the plan, it is said, is to convert the entire tenth floor of Namakkal Kavignar Maligai into the Chief Minister’s office with his advisors and secretarial staff working from the same floor that would have spacious halls and facilities to host dignitaries of all kinds.
