Tamil Nadu Tourism Pavilion Inaugurated at IFTM Top Resa 2026 in Paris

The comprehensive outreach at IFTM Top Resa is slated to strengthen Tamil Nadu's international travel ties and significantly boost foreign tourist arrivals through the 2027–28 travel calendar

Chennai: Minister for Tourism Rajeshkumar inaugurated the dedicated Tamil Nadu Tourism Pavilion at the International French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa 2026, currently underway at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from September 15 to 17.

Organised under the guidance of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, the state's participation aims to establish Tamil Nadu as a premier global destination at the premier B2B travel trade exhibition, which is centered around the theme "The Value of Travel" and brings together over 1,650 travel companies alongside nearly 32,000 international tourism professionals.

Following the inaugural ceremony, Minister Rajeshkumar toured the pavilion, which highlights the state’s multi-faceted attractions—spanning its ancient heritage, living culture, indigenous cuisine, wildlife, spirituality, wellness, and adventure tourism.

Alongside world-renowned heritage sites such as Mamallapuram, the Great Living Chola Temples of Thanjavur, Madurai, Rameswaram, Kumbakonam, Chettinad, the Nilgiris, and Kanniyakumari, the state spotlighted emerging destinations like Pichavaram, Kolli Hills, Valparai, Yercaud, Yelagiri, Tharangambadi, Dhanushkodi, Gingee Fort, and Kanchipuram through dedicated architectural and cultural circuits.

The delegation also championed experiential and community-centric travel models, including rural and agri-tourism, local food festivals, handlooms, handicrafts, eco-tourism, medical travel, slow travel, and astro-tourism, alongside curated itineraries for families, senior citizens, and wellness seekers.

Informational guidebooks and promotional literature were widely distributed to international buyers and media representatives throughout the showcase.

During the event, state tourism officials held extensive B2B meetings with French travel operators, destination management companies, and global industry stakeholders to establish collaborative tour circuits and strategic partnerships.

Marking a major highlight of the inaugural day, the department officially rolled out the "Discover Tamil Nadu – International Edition 2026–27" Familiarization (FAM) Trip initiative, supported by the dedicated portal www.discovertamilnadu.online.

The comprehensive outreach at IFTM Top Resa is slated to strengthen Tamil Nadu's international travel ties and significantly boost foreign tourist arrivals through the 2027–28 travel calendar.
