Tamil Nadu Secretariat Workers Protest at Office

The union members and employees also urged the State government to pay them the 3 percent dearness allowance (DA) announced by the Union Government on July 1

Chennai: Members of the State Secretariat Employees’ Union organized a protest during lunch break on Wednesday demanding the implementation of the old pension scheme, which the DMK had promised in the election manifesto.

The union members and employees also urged the State government to pay them the 3 percent dearness allowance (DA) announced by the Union Government on July 1 and the filling up of vacancies in the government departments.

Slogans were raised in the protest that saw a minor kerfuffle when a government employee accused the Secretariat employees union of not functioning properly.
