Tamil Nadu: 2 Youth Hacked To Death Over Choice Of Songs At Temple Fest Concert

CHENNAI: Two persons were killed in a clash between 'due gangs' over the choice of songs at a music concert in a temple festival near Kanchipuram on Sunday night. A tense situation is prevailing at the village and a large number of policemen have been deployed to avert further clashes.
Ponniamman temple is located in Padunelli village in Kanchipuram district, where a festival was celebrated on Sunday at the end of Tamil month of Aadi.
During a music concert, a quarrel arose between two gangs over the choice of songs. Police went to the place, pacified the gang members and returned. After the end of the concert, Neelakandan (25) and Chandru (24) belonging to Padunelli village were sitting in front of their house and chatting. Suddenly, an unidentified gang came in two-wheelers, hacked them to death and fled.
The people who gathered at the place said the police should have taken action on those who committed the wrong when the concert was going on.
Police sent the bodies for post-mortem. A large number of policemen are deployed in the village to prevent further clashes.
