Tamil Nadu: 1,577 Offenders Arrested, 3,288 Warrants Executed From July 29 To August 11

Chennai: A total of 1,577 offenders were jailed in police operations throughout Tamil Nadu from July 29 to August 11 and 3,288 non-bailable warrants were executed. The arrest comes after continuous checking and surveillance against history sheeters and other offenders.

A press release from the DGP office said during the one week, a total of 52,279 history sheeters and bad characters involved in crime offences were checked throughout the State before arresting 1,577 of them.

All Commissioners of Police in cities, Superintendents of Police in districts and special unit officers have been instructed to continue with the intensive monitoring of rowdies, habitual offenders, bad Characters and anti-social elements through regular checks, preventive measures and close surveillance to prevent criminal activities and to maintain law and order.

In order to maintain law and order, as a proactive and preventive policing measure, intensive enforcement drives were carried out across the State as per the instructions of the DGP Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. The focus of the drive is history sheeters, rowdies, non-history sheet offenders, bad Characters and absconding accused involved in various criminal activities.
