Piyush Goyal Calls On EPS To Firm Up Ties
Goyal called on Palaniswami at his official residence in Greenways Road in the morning and had breakfast with him before telling the media that the NDA, which would be led by the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu would throw the DMK out of power in the Assembly elections.

Chennai: Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who has been camping in Chennai to finalise the alliances with the parties that have agreed to be part of the NDA in the State, called on the general secretary of the AIADMK, Edappadi K Palaniswami, and sealed the pact, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting at Madurantakam on Friday to launch the election campaign for the alliance.
Goyal called on Palaniswami at his official residence in Greenways Road in the morning and had breakfast with him before telling the media that the NDA, which would be led by the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu would throw the DMK out of power in the Assembly elections.
He said the roping in of AMMK, led by T T V Dinakaran, and the support of other allies like the PMK would go a long way in strengthening the alliance. The Prime Minister’s visit to the State would be a turning point that would usher in the AIADMK government.
Criticizing Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his old remark on Sanatana Dharma, Goyal termed it as hate speech, which was seemingly a bid by the BJP to raking up the now forgotten issue that tried to portray the DMK as ‘anti-Hindu.’
Palaniswami said that five lakh people were expected to attend the campaign meeting addressed by Modi at Madurantakam. He said the meeting would mark the beginning of the end of family rule and dynasty in Tamil Nadu.
