Chennai:DMK president M K Stalin strongly condemned the arrest of a former Minister in his Cabinet, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi saying that false charges had been foisted against him with political motives.
By arresting Poyyamozhi, who had been fully cooperating with the investigation into the allegations against him, the ruling government felt that it could sweep the deteriorating law and order situation and administrative corruption under the carpet for a few days.
While Poyyamozhi would face the charges against him according to the law, the TVK would not succeed in its bid to divert the anger of the people through such arrests.
