Stalin Asks Vijay to Do Some Introspection

Chennai:Responding quickly to the allegations made by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay at the Madurantakam campaign meeting on Friday, DMK president and former Chief Minister M K Stalin urged him to do some introspection and explain as to how many times he had spoken against the BJP and reminded him that any reference made in the Assembly by even the allies of TVK were expunged.

Pointing to the remarks made by Vijay in his speech on the case relating to sexual assault of minor girls by industrialist and Gem Granites owner R Veeramadi, Stalin wondered as to how the officials failed to tell him the Madras High had issued instructions on not politicizing the issue.

The manner in which he spoke on the issue in ‘high pitch’ revealed that Vijay had not updated himself on the issue though he had had explained about the controversy in detail, he said, adding that on the Karur tragedy he or the DMK never tried to gain political mileage out of the tragedy but he only said that no leader would like his followers to be killed.

To the allegation that DMK members were denigrating women, he asked the Chief Minister to check the track record of the virtual abusers. Though Vijay said that he had stopped acting in films, what was happening in Madurantakam was a ‘shooting’ that he (Stalin) watched and appreciated the dialogue delivery.

Wondering as to how he could talk about corruption when the TVK candidate Maragatham Kumaravel, who had defected from the AIADMK, was on stage, he asked if it was proper for a ‘pure force’ to buy out MLAs of the NDA even before the ink in their finger had not dried.

Stalin also said that most of the schemes launched by the TVK were only a continuation of the DMK’s welfare measures.
