Stalin Asks EPS To Drop ‘Anna’s Name From party

Addressing a public meeting at Maraimalai Nagar Kanchipuram, the DMK leader asserted that the BJP and ‘its slave party AIADMK’ would be rooted out in Tamil Nadu in the Assembly elections.

Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday said the AIADMK should remove the name of Dravidian icon Anna (C.N. Annadurai) from the party name since it is functioning as ‘a slave of the BJP’.

Addressing a public meeting at Maraimalai Nagar Kanchipuram, the DMK leader asserted that the BJP and ‘its slave party AIADMK’ would be rooted out in Tamil Nadu in the Assembly elections. Lashing out at former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the Chief Minister said he is functioning like a branch secretary of the BJP. What happened in Koovathur when Palaniswami was elected as the Chief Minister was well known to the people, he said.

He vowed to work for Tamil Nadu and its people till his death the DMK helped the people by providing food packets to the people during the Covid-19 period and he visited the Nandambakkam special Covid camp immediately after taking over as Chief Minister. He also alleged that the AIADMK was involved in corrupt activities during the Covid period.

When anyone carried out a visit around Kanchipuram and Chengalpet districts, they could know the development activities taken by the DMK government. He said the opposition leader Palaniswami was making defamatory speeches and also about the DMK leader’s death. Stalin said everyone would die some day and the schemes implemented by him would not be concealed or changed, Stalin said.

Stalin said he spoke on the DMK stage at the age of 18 and he vowed to sacrifice his life for Tamil language and race in that speech. The DMK has provided a ‘super star election manifesto’ on the schemes to be implemented by the DMK in the next ten years, he said.The people put an end to the arrogant speeches of Palaniswami on April 23, Stalin added.
