Singappen Cops Respond to 272 Complaints on Spot

CHENNAI: The Singappen Special Force (SSF) of the Tamil Nadu police, during the week from August 14 to August 20, responded to 272 complaints on the spot and facilitated registration of 20 criminal cases.

The teams also traced two missing women and three missing children and ensured their safe restoration.

As part of its preventive outreach initiatives, SSF conducted 3,519 awareness programmes for school and college students, public and migrant workers. Surveillance and preventive patrolling were carried out at 12,577 identified, vulnerable locations across the state.

During the week, SSF also rescued and rehabilitated five persons with intellectual disabilities, prevented three child marriages and facilitated the re-enrolment of 53 school dropout children.

SSF teams responded swiftly to incidents reported at Chennai, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Kallakurichi, Theni, Thoothukudi,

Mayiladuthurai, Perambalur, Ranipet, Virudhunagar, Sivagangai, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Tambaram and Coimbatore.
