School Celebrates Onam to Bolster Bonds of Friendship, Secular Fabric

Coimbatore:Bharathi ICSE School here on Monday celebrated the Onam festival with traditional flavour and fervour to strengthen the bonds of friendship and secular fabric even as the Onam mood has engulfed the west zone, which has a sizeable Malayalee population.
The celebration on the school campus showcased the rich cultural heritage and traditions associated with Kerala’s harvest festival. Students and teachers participated in the celebrations dressed in the colourful and traditional Onam attire. A beautifully-decorated 'pookalam' (floral carpet) was laid as part of the celebrations, reflecting the creativity and teamwork of the students, to showcase how nature and its colours play a role in the Onam celebration to tune in the present generation towards nature conservation.

The programme featured a variety of traditional cultural activities, highlighting the significance of Onam and the values of unity, harmony, sharing and togetherness. Students enthusiastically participated in the events, making the celebration lively and memorable.
The school management, principal and teachers conveyed their Onam greetings to the students and encouraged them to understand and respect India’s diverse cultural traditions.
