Rameswaram TVK Ward Secretary’s Suicide Blamed On Party Honcho
A woman has alleged that her husband, a TVK executive in Rameswaram, committed suicide due to the party’s district secretary addressing him in the singular.
Rameshwaram: A woman has alleged that her husband, a TVK executive in Rameswaram, committed suicide due to the party’s district secretary addressing him in the singular.
Paranthaman, a former army officer from the Gandhinagar area of Rameswaram, was the TVK ward secretary. It is said that a few days ago, Paranthaman was removed from the party post by TVK district secretary Malarvizhi Jayapalan, who appointed someone else in his place.
Paranthaman, upset after being removed from his post, met Malarvizhi Jayapalan in person, who is said to have addressed him in the singular in front of party executives. Mentally distressed, Paranthaman came home and allegedly committed suicide.
The police started investigating the matter after recovering the body and sending it to the Rameswaram government hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Paranthaman’s wife has alleged that her husband committed suicide because Malarvizhi Jayapalan addressed him in the singular. She also urged the police and party leadership to take appropriate action against Malarvizhi Jayapalan, who, she said, was responsible for her husband’s death.
