Online Booking for Darshan at Tiruvannamalai Soon: HR & CE Minister

Vellore:Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR&CE) minister S. Ramesh on Wednesday inspected the Tiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar temple and said online booking facilities for darshan would be made soon to avoid the domination of middlemen.
Addressing the media, he said once the arrangements for online booking for darshan are made, the devotees could book their timings to avoid middlemen and confusion.
He carried out discussions with the officials to ensure that no mobile phone was brought into the temple from September 1 and the ban on mobile phones should reach the people all over India through television channels, websites and social media.
The minister said he had instructed the officials to provide basic facilities and security arrangements for the people and asked them to increase the height of the moving roof above the people’s queue.
Ramesh said additional fans would be provided in special darshan queues and asked the officials to clean them frequently.
The minister wanted the officials to place announcement boards on puja times in Tamil and other languages. He said Tamil should be given the first place with English in the second place and other languages following them.
