Naidu Proposes Bullet Train Corridor Connecting Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka
Beyond rail infrastructure, the Chief Minister outlined several inter-state initiatives, including the establishment of an interstate spiritual tourism circuit linking Tirupati with northern pilgrimage destinations such as Kashi, Ayodhya, and the Char Dham.

Mahabalipuram:Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu proposed the development of an integrated high-speed bullet train corridor connecting Amaravati, Bengaluru, and Chennai via Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh.
Emphasizing regional economic potential in the Southern Zonal Council meeting, Naidu highlighted that collective initiatives among the southern states are essential for the region to serve as a driving force in building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India), while noting that resolving long-pending interstate and regional matters requires mutual trust and close cooperation between state administrations and the central government.
Beyond rail infrastructure, the Chief Minister outlined several inter-state initiatives, including the establishment of an interstate spiritual tourism circuit linking Tirupati with northern pilgrimage destinations such as Kashi, Ayodhya, and the Char Dham. He also advocated for a regional consortium combining universities and skill development institutes across the southern states to enhance workforce readiness, while urging the Centre to expedite approvals for the Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada metro rail projects and resolve pending issues related to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Addressing regional water management, Naidu called on Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu to work in close coordination on river-water sharing. He pointed out that over 500 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) of water could be diverted through the Godavari–Cauvery river-linking project, offering a permanent solution to Tamil Nadu’s recurring water shortages.
To achieve this, he proposed formulating a long-term national roadmap for the broader Ganga–Cauvery river link and stressed the importance of preparing time-bound Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to ensure swift regulatory clearances for major river-linking initiatives.
