MSOCK to Give AI Systems Deeper Enterprise Context

CHENNAI: Intellect Design Arena Ltd., a Chennai-based financial technology company, on Tuesday launched MSOCK (Multidimensional Multilayer System of Connected Knowledge), an AI-native engineering system aimed at addressing the inability of AI systems to understand the complex business and technology context of organisations.
In a press meet held here ahead of unveiling of the system, the company authorities said MSOCK creates a connected and computable representation of enterprise knowledge, linking business processes, operational rules, compliance requirements, applications, APIs and code.
This is intended to enable AI systems to understand the implications of a proposed change before acting on mission-critical software.
The launch marks what Intellect describes as a shift from coding-led software engineering to “cognitive engineering”, where understanding business intent, institutional knowledge, architectural dependencies and the potential impact of changes becomes the starting point for enterprise transformation.
“AI knows the world. It doesn't know your bank,” said Arun Jain, founder and chairman, Intellect Design Arena, and chief architect, Purple Fabric, highlighting what the company sees as a major limitation in the current enterprise AI landscape.
According to Intellect, MSOCK seeks to address this gap by creating an evidence-based representation of an organisation’s software estate through a 21-dimensional enterprise spatial graph. The system connects products, processes, policies, APIs and code, organising them into connected knowledge units.
The platform comprises five key capabilities — system of connected knowledge (Sock), 21-dimensional enterprise spatial graph, precise blast radius, four engineering machines and command centre.
Jain said the development followed a nine-year study by Intellect's Applied AI Research Lab to examine why AI-assisted software development had not resulted in proportionate reductions in enterprise transformation timelines.
“MSOCK was built to solve that problem. Just as RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) made enterprise data structured and queryable, MSOCK makes enterprise knowledge connected and computable,” he said.
The company said MSOCK is designed to work alongside existing foundation models, copilots, AI agents and AI-driven development pipelines rather than replace them. It would provide these systems with additional enterprise and architectural context while retaining existing AI investments.
The company has also launched a three-week open challenge for financial institutions. Participating organisations can bring a complex application module to Intellect, following which MSOCK will map the application and its connected knowledge. The objective is to demonstrate whether the system can answer a critical question before a software change is made: what exactly could be affected if a particular component is changed?
The company currently serves more than 500 customers across 62 countries and has a portfolio spanning wholesale and consumer banking, central banking, wealth management, capital markets, treasury, insurance and digital commerce technologies.
