Leopard Spotted on Retaining Wall Near Bannari Amman Temple

Erode: A leopard was found lying on a retaining wall near the renowned Bannari Mariamman Temple near Sathyamangalam in Erode district, adjoining a dense forest on Friday night.

Every day, thousands of devotees from various parts of Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring states of Kerala and Karnataka visit the temple.

A motorist passing by was startled on seeing the animal and recorded a video of it on his mobile phone. He later shared the video on social media. The leopard later returned to the forest. The video has since gone viral on social media.

Forest department officials advised motorists travelling through the area at night, especially two-wheeler riders, to exercise extreme caution.
