Lender Slits Woman's Throat, Throws Body in Well For Not Repaying Debt
The victim did not repay the debt and the lender murdered her after kidnapping
Chennai: A money lender was arrested for murdering a woman by cutting her throat and throwing the body in an agriculture well in Melmaruvathur for not repaying the debt.
The body of an unidentified woman was found in Sirunagalur village in Melmaruvathur in Chengalpet district, with her throat slit. The police identified her as Manimegalai (41), wife of Gurunathan living in Aminjikarai in Chennai.
The investigation showed that Manimegalai had received money on interest from a man named Johnny Anbu Dass (45). She did not repay the debt and Dass threatened to kidnap her. The police questioning revealed that he forcibly took her to Melmaruvathur and cut her throat. He took her jewels and mobile, and threw the body in an agriculture well. The police arrested Dass.
