Karthik Appointed New Tamil Nadu Home Sectary

Chennai: Senior IAS officer A. Karthik has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary to the Home, Prohibition, and Excise Department, taking over from Dr K. Manivasan as part of a significant bureaucratic reshuffle announced by the Tamil Nadu government. Karthik previously served as the Principal Secretary/Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation (TANSIDCO).
Under the order issued by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar, Dr. Manivasan has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary / Commissioner of Land Administration. He replaces Rajesh Lakhoni, whose services have been placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited as Chairman and Managing Director, alongside leadership responsibilities for the state's green energy, transmission, and power generation corporations.
The reshuffle also sees V. Arun Roy, the outgoing head of the electricity board, move to the Finance Department as Secretary to Government (Expenditure). Meanwhile, N. Venkatesh, who previously handled expenditure in the finance wing, has been named the new Agricultural Production Commissioner and Secretary to Government for the Agriculture – Farmers' Welfare Department.
