DMK Seeks Separate Lok Sabha Seating After Congress Alliance Split

Move follows end of alliance with Indian National Congress

New Delhi: DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has written to the Lok Sabha Speaker requesting a change in seating arrangements for members of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the House.

In her letter, she stated that in view of the changed political circumstances and the end of the party’s alliance with the Indian National Congress, it would not be appropriate for DMK members to continue sitting alongside Congress MPs.

She urged the Speaker to make necessary arrangements to allot separate seating for the DMK Parliamentary Party, enabling its members to effectively discharge their responsibilities in the Lok Sabha.

Kanimozhi expressed hope that her request would receive due consideration from the Speaker’s office.
