Kanimozhi Seeks Probe Into 'Curbs' On Anti-TVK Posts On Insta

Thoothukudi: DMK deputy general secretary Kanimozhi Karunanidhi MP has sought an investigation into the alleged misuse of Instagram’s reporting mechanisms to restrict political criticism of the TVK Government.
In a post on X on Monday, she said she had written to Union minister for electronics and information technology Ashwini Vaishnaw seeking a probe into the issue.
The MP alleged that accounts and posts critical of the government were repeatedly being restricted, taken down or subjected to reduced visibility, raising concerns over the possible misuse of state police machinery and other resources to suppress lawful political expression.
She, hence, urged the Union ministry to examine the alleged misuse of state authorities, seek information from Meta, Instagram’s parent company, and ensure that content moderation remained politically neutral, transparent and proportionate, with due process being followed.
