INDIAPEST Focuses on Safety, Dignity in Pest Management Sector

Chennai: The Indian Pest Control Association (IPCA) on Friday commenced its 59th annual convention, INDIAPEST 2026, in Chennai, bringing together pest management professionals, government agencies, researchers, policymakers and global experts to discuss the future of the sector.
The three-day convention, being held under the theme “Safety and Dignity,” focuses on strengthening safety standards, professional practices, workforce development and responsible pest management.
The technical sessions cover areas including workforce training, sustainable pest management, termite control, food safety and integrated pest management, public health and vector control, digital technologies, responsible pesticide use, regulatory developments and industry standards.
Representatives from organisations including the Military Engineer Services, Central Public Works Department, Bureau of Indian Standards, Vector Control Research Centre, Indian Railways, FSSAI, Government e-Marketplace and skill development agencies are participating in discussions on standards, procurement, public health, training and quality assurance.
An exhibition accompanying the convention showcases integrated pest management solutions, digital monitoring systems, AI-assisted inspection technologies, advanced application equipment, safety gear and other sustainable pest management innovations.
IPCA said the convention seeks to highlight the role of professional pest management in public health, food safety, environmental protection and infrastructure management, while promoting greater recognition, training and workplace safety for pest management professionals.
