Ganja Worth Rs.3 Cr Seized at Chennai Airport

Based on passenger profiling, the officers of the Air Intelligence Unit of Chennai Customs intercepted a 48-year-old Indian male passenger, who had arrived with wheelchair assistance at Chennai International Airport from Kuala Lumpur. The passenger attempted to exit through the green channel without making any declaration to the customs.

When his baggage was checked, 6 transparent airtight packets containing hydroponic ganja weighing 2,960 grams valued at Rs. 3 crore were found. The contraband was seized and the passenger was arrested.
