Ganja Worth Rs. 6 Crore Seized At Chennai Airport

Chennai: Chennai Customs intercepted two Indian women passengers who arrived at Bangkok on Monday and seized 6 kilograms of hydroponic ganja worth Rs. 6 crore.
The passengers tried to exit through the green channel without making any declaration to customs. During the screening, the passengers checked-in baggage exhibited suspicious images. The officials carried out a detailed examination of the baggage and found 8 packets of high grade hydroponic ganja weighing 6 kilograms and worth Rs. 6 crore. The two persons were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
2 arrested for smuggling 8 kg ganja in Poonamallee
Chennai: Poonamalee prohibition enforcement wing police have seized 8 kilograms of ganja near a petrol bunk at Parivakkam.
Based on secret information, a police team headed by prohibition wing inspector Kaliyasundaram monitored the Parivakkam bypass. They questioned two persons Rajesh (23) and Anbumani (25) standing at the place in a suspicious manner. They searched them and found 8 kilograms of ganja which was seized. They said the narcotic substance was smuggled from Odisha and both of them were arrested.
