Free Doli Service for Devotees at Thalaimalai Perumal Temple
Every year during the Tamil month of Purattasi thousands of devotees arrive for darshan of Sanjeeviraya Perumal at the hilltop.

Namakkal: The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department assistant commissioner Ilayaraja last week inaugurated an emergency doli service for devotees who visit the historic Thalaimalai peak in Vadavathur panchayat of Namakkal district.
Every year during the Tamil month of Purattasi thousands of devotees arrive for darshan of Sanjeeviraya Perumal at the hilltop. So far, there was no facility to provide first aid in the event of sudden health problems, or to safely bring affected persons down from the hilltop to the foothills.
As an important initiative, steps have now been taken to provide a free doli facility to bring affected devotees, during emergencies at the hilltop, to bring them safely to the foothills. The free doli service has been arranged through Agni Rajesh, managing trustee of the Thalaimalai Seva Trust, with the assistance of volunteers, and a private school in Namakkal which has provided financial assistance for two dolis.
