Chennai: In a continuation of the exodus of AIADMK leaders to the TVK, more than 1000 members, including a former Member of Parliament and a couple of former MLAs, showed up at the party headquarters in Panaiyur on Saturday to enroll themselves as members of the ruling party with former MP M Udhayakumar who represented Dindigul, leading them.
The huge delegation that was welcomed into the TVK by State Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources, N Anand, and Minister for Food and Food Supply, P Venkataraman, among others, many of whom had defected from the AIADMK after the present government had assumed office, points to an apparent disillusionment in the AIADMK.
The two former MLAs who were among the disgruntled AIADMK members were K S Srinivasan and G R Mala. While Anand, who has been admitting new members particularly those joining TVK from other parties regularly, was there to induct the nearly 1000 defectors, many former AIADMK leaders who recently shifted to the TVK were there to receive them.

This Saturday, apart from TVK MLA M V Karuppaiah, the former AIADMK leaders who were present at the event were C Vijaya Bhaskar, K Maragatham Kumaravel, Balaganga, K P Kanthan, Velmurugan, P S Ashok, Rauthar Ibrahim and Kamalakannan.
